IN part two of my interview with Slaven Bilic, we discuss the big figures from his past – from players he faced, like Dejan Savicevic and Darko Pancev, to his former Croatia colleague Alen Boksic.

Slaven also takes us back to the 1998 World Cup, when he was part of the Croatia side which lost to France in the semi-finals, as well key moments from his time as manager of his national team.

One of the most enjoyable moments of this interview is when Slaven teaches me something I didn’t know about the Croatian team spirit. You’ll find it interesting, too.

And he talks about the development of Luka Modric from a teenager playing in his homeland into a brilliant footballer admired the world over.

VAMOS socios! Here’s what I was talking about in the latest episode of The Big Inside View over on Patreon.

As you know, in the podcast I spoke about what I think has been a push back against the brand of football made popular by Pep Guardiola, a style many of us fell in love with while watching his FC Barcelona team, especially.

But there is an antidote to this attack, as you can see in this clip of the fabulous football being played by Celta Vigo, where Luis Enrique’s former assistant at Barcelona, Juan Carlos Unzué, is now manager.
