Camp Nou competition – week two. Your target is set.

After week one of our FanDuel Camp Nou competition, the leading score is 296.75. That was achieved by player and podcast listener DonnellyC on FanDuel, but remember – it’s a brand new game every matchday. Win this week (October 29th) or in our final gameday, on November 5th, and if your score is the highest of our three winners, you’re going to Barcelona, baby.

The prize is awesome. Flights, hotel and matchday tickets for you and a friend to watch Barcelona v Malaga on November 19. I’ll be your host at Camp Nou. All thanks to FanDuel.

How to win? Well, last week’s winner combined very popular high-scoring players like Dimitri Payet, with value picks like Ryan Shawcross – only 6.4% of players in the Podcast Challenge had the Stoke defender in their line-up last Saturday, but he weighed in with 25.75 points.

Here’s how you can join in and win this amazing prize.

  • Sign up at fanduel using promo code BIGINTERVIEW. If you have already signed up using this or any of our promo codes, you can ignore this part. But only players based in the UK and who use one of our codes are eligible to win.
  • Play in the Graham Hunter Podcast Challenge on Saturday. The usual cash prizes are up for grabs every week, as well as this special prize.
  • The podcast listener with the highest single matchday score across the next three matchdays wins this very special prize. If you don’t do well in week one, or you don’t play until week three, you can still win the prize.

With FanDuel it’s a brand new game every matchday, so you don’t have to play every week to win this prize. The single highest score will do it.

You can keep track of who’s in pole position, and what the score to beat is, here at grahamhunter.tv.

Matt Le Tissier: Local Hero

Matt Le Tissier was the ultimate Local Hero (great film, btw).  He signed for Southampton at 16 and stayed for his whole career. His exquisite talents would have allowed him to grace a higher stage, but trophies and money were never his motivation.

In part one, Matt talks about his End Blyton-esque childhood on Guernsey, his passion for cricket, the art of penalty-taking and scoring the last-ever goal at the Dell.
Guys like Matt are a reminder of why we all love football so much. And I hope you enjoy this conversation with a legend of the British game as much as I did.

The Graham Hunter Podcast Challenge: Week Seven

So, I know there’s been an international week in between this and the last contest, but I can’t miss the chance to reflect back – and gloat – on week 6 of the Graham Hunter Podcast Challenge. Yes, I finished in the money again, placing 7th out of 94. I’m getting the hang of this.

Last time – when I finished 7th, did I mention that! – Dmitri Payet was my second highest point scorer. I’ve watched his goal against Middlesbrough so many times since then.  He has to be in again. I’ve been excited by Victor Wanyama’s recent form and I think he’ll be a good points scorer for me on Saturday.

I fancy Alexis Sanchez to do some damage against Swansea. Bournemouth’s Joshua King has been a consistent points scorer in FanDuel this season, and Jermaine Defoe can always be relied upon for a goal. Yes, I’m feeling confident again.

If you want to join in, it’s really simple. Log in at fanduel.co.uk/graham. This weekend, for the first 150 of you that sign up to @FanDuelUK with code GRAHAMFIVER you’ll get £5 free credit, no deposit required. New customers only

Have fun. See you on the app!

Ramon Calderon: Making the Deal (Part Two)

As president of Real Madrid – and as an influencer while out of that office – Ramon Calderon was inside some historic deals: Cristiano Ronaldo to Madrid being chief amongst them. In this, the second part of my interview with him, you’ll hear the story of that transfer, and also a whole bunch of other decisions, made by him and by Florentino Perez, the man he succeeded and who would return to power at the Bernabeu, with Ramon Calderon as a frequent critic.

You’re going to hear very nice things said about David Beckham. You’re going to hear about Predrag Mijatovic and the need to delegate. You’re going to hear about how two goals in the last 20 minutes of a football match can restore one’s faith in a higher power.

I hope you like it.
