Scott Minto: Hoddle, Gullit and House Music

Hola Big Interview listeners! And happy New Year!

I can think of no better way to start 2019 than with another Big Interview. And this one is with the wonderful Mr Scott Minto.

Scott has carved out an excellent career in television but, before that, he was a successful, skilful footballer with the likes of West Ham, Benfica, and Chelsea.

You will learn about the big characters during his Stamford Bridge, with special mentions for Glenn Hoddle and Ruud Gullit, as well as the likes of Gianfranco Zola and Roberto Di Matteo.

And, of course, Scott retells the tale of the 1997 FA Cup final. That alone is worth listening to what I think is an utterly captivating chat.

Our Socios get to listen to this episode in full and ad-free (there are over 600 of them now, and you can join the party by clicking here) and this is just one of the podcasts we have been producing for them.

Subscribe now and you can also listen to both of those interviews in full and ad-free, as well as my Big Interviews with Pat Nevin, Joleon Lescott, Brian McClair and David Preece!

Last month, our Socios also received ad-free special episodes including:
  • The Big Interview with Kevin Bridges
  • David Preece: Viva van der Sar & the Art of Analysis
  • Jermain Defoe: Spurs Songs
  • Barca, Bosses and Big Eck: Q&A Special

Every month, the deal gets sweeter and subscribers also help to ensure that we can continue to produce the content you love. We couldn’t do this without them.

Thanks,

Graham

Damien Duff: The Street Footballer

Hola Big Interview listeners!

You have been telling us about their favourite Big Interviews from our archive. Here’s another classic.

In 2016 we meet Damien Duff at the Aviva Stadium – formerly Lansdowne Road – the ground where he won so many of his 100 caps for Republic of Ireland.

Damien’s reflections gave us a remarkable insight into the extraordinary character and talent that would emerge in memorable spells at Blackburn, Chelsea, Newcastle and Fulham.

This is a man who remains so in love with football that he recently hired an Astroturf park by himself to have a kickabout. That says it all about a remarkable football man.I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

Kevin Bridges Part Two: Teamtalks and Pep Talk

Hola Big Interview listeners!

Welcome to the second half of my chat with Kevin Bridges. Here, Kevin takes us inside the dressing room at Celtic Park on the day he delivered the teamtalk at Scott Brown’s testimonial. Kevin also reflects on the great Ajax team of the nineties and why Pep’s Barca were better than the all-conquering Real Madrid of the past few years.

Enjoy!

Kevin Bridges Part One: Bono, Boca and Boston Accents

Hola!

He’s back. Our most popular guest of all-time, Kevin Bridges, joins us three-and-a-half years after our first chat in 2015. This time, we talk about how he influenced the outcome of this year’s League One Play-off Final; how Noel Gallagher snubbed his invite to the pub to watch Celtic-Inverness Caledonian Thistle with arguably the greatest excuse of all time. Listen up for Kevin talking Boca Juniors, Barca, the original Ronaldo and the MLS.

Enjoy!
